Dinosaur lunch bag with a name — an insulated navy cooler bag printed with a watercolour dinosaur design and your child’s name.
Dinosaurs are the classic design for reception and Year 1, and there is a practical reason as well as an obvious one. A four-year-old who cannot yet read their own name reliably can still find a bag by picture, and a dinosaur is unmistakable from the other end of a lunch trolley. The name underneath does the work for the teacher; the dinosaur does the work for the child.
The photograph shows the watercolour dinosaur print with the name Leo in orange. The design sits on the large white panel on the front of the bag, so it reads clearly against the navy body. You choose the wording and the font from six styles, so the bag can carry a first name on its own, a name and initial, or a short line such as “Leo’s Lunch”.
Print the name your child is actually called at school rather than the one on the register, if the two differ. Short wording prints larger and reads better from across a classroom, which is the whole point of putting it there.
The design is printed into the panel rather than sitting on top of it, so it will not peel at the corners the way an iron-on badge or a name sticker does after a few weeks of being pushed into a school bag and pulled out again.
If your child would rather have something else, the same bag takes space rockets, rainbows, football, florals, woodland scenes or a drawing of their own.

It is a lunch bag rather than a day bag, so it is worth measuring before you order if your child uses a particularly large lunch box — the internal space follows those outside dimensions. Navy was chosen deliberately for the body: it is the colour that shows the least after a term of being dropped on a playground.
Personalisation
Choose a design type first — text only, an image on its own, or text combined with an image. Then type the wording exactly as you want it printed, pick one of six font styles (Script, Serif, Block, Display, Mono or Hand) and choose your text colour.
Short wording prints larger and reads better from across a classroom, which is the whole point of putting it there. A first name in a bold font is the most practical choice for a young child, and it is worth thinking about how they will be addressed at school — print the name they answer to, not the one on the register, if the two differ. Longer lines such as “Sophie’s Snacks” or “Little Chef” work well for older children who want something with a bit more character.
The field accepts up to 250 characters, but a name plus two or three words is the readable limit on a panel this size. If you want ideas, the 60 suggestions in what to write on a personalised apron include plenty of short, child-friendly lines that adapt straight across.
Uploading a photo or drawing? Use a clear PNG, JPEG or SVG file up to 15 MB. Simple designs with strong lines reproduce best; a child’s own drawing scanned or photographed in good light usually works beautifully. The design is printed into the panel rather than sitting on top of it, so it will not peel at the corners the way an iron-on or a name sticker does after a few weeks in a school bag.

- Why choose a dinosaur design for a young child?
- Because a four-year-old who cannot yet read their own name reliably can still find a bag by picture. A dinosaur is unmistakable from the other end of a lunch trolley; the name underneath does the work for the teacher.
- Can I have a different design instead of the dinosaur?
- Yes. The same bag takes space rockets, rainbows, football, florals, woodland scenes, or a drawing of your child’s own scanned in good light.
- How much wording fits beside the dinosaur?
- A first name prints largest and reads best. A name plus two or three words, such as “Leo’s Lunch”, still works. A longer line has to shrink until it is hard to read across a classroom.
- Does the lunch bag keep food cold?
- It is an insulated cooler bag, which holds temperature for a school day. An ice pack is not included, so add one if you are packing something that needs to stay properly chilled.
- Will the name peel off after a term?
- No. The design is printed into the white front panel rather than sitting on top of it, so it will not peel at the corners the way an iron-on badge or a name sticker does.
- How long does it take to arrive before term starts?
- Made to order in Cheshire and usually dispatched within 1 to 3 working days, with free UK delivery. Order a week or so before the first day of term.
