Ordering Staff Aprons With a Logo: Files, Colours, Sizes, Timings

Branded logo aprons for café and salon staff

A set of matching aprons is the cheapest thing that makes two people look like a business. It is also easy to order badly: a logo with a white box, one size that turns out to be the wrong size, and a rush the week before opening. This is the order sheet for the branded logo apron, in the order the questions come.

1. The file

Send the logo as a PNG with a transparent background, or an SVG. A JPEG logo prints with a white rectangle around it; on a black apron that is the entire problem. Simple, bold, high-contrast logos print sharpest on fabric; fine lines, tiny text and gradients soften. If your only file is the one from the website, upload it anyway and say so in the note; most simple logos can be cleaned up before printing. The logo file guide has the detail.

2. Black or white

Black hides sauce, coffee and flour and reads as kitchen, bar and barista. White reads as bakery, deli and salon, and shows a colour logo more brightly. Both are the same apron: about 75 by 59 cm, water and stain resistant polyester, adjustable neck strap, extra-long ties that wrap to the front, two large pockets. If the team is split between front and back of house, black for the kitchen and white for the counter is a common, sensible order.

3. One size, and why that is fine

The apron is one size with an adjustable neck strap and ties long enough to wrap round and tie at the front, so it fits a 1.55 m barista and a 1.90 m chef without a sizing round. Order the number of people plus two spares: one for the new starter, one for the day someone's goes in the wash.

4. Logo on the chest, name underneath

The layout that works: logo on the chest, staff member's first name in smaller lettering underneath. A named apron is worn more willingly than an anonymous one, and customers use the name, which is worth more to a small business than anything else you can print. Add each apron to the basket separately with its own name, or order the set with the logo only and add names later for new staff. The print is sublimated into the fabric, so there is nothing to peel or crack through repeated washing.

5. Timings

There is no minimum, no maximum and no set-up fee. Everything is printed to order in Cheshire and usually dispatched within one to three working days, with free UK delivery. For a set of ten or more with a fixed date (an opening, a market, an event), email support@larencraft.com with the date first and the timing will be confirmed before you pay. If you are unsure how the logo will reproduce, order one apron before you order eight: a small cost to find out, a large one to discover afterwards.

6. Washing and life

Machine wash at a low temperature, inside out, no tumble dryer if you can avoid it, no iron over the print. A polyester apron dries overnight on a hook, which is why cafés keep two per person and never run out.

Matching the rest

The same logo goes on a men's or women's t-shirt for outdoor stalls and studios (a proof is sent before anything is printed), on a counter sign with the WiFi and a review QR code, and on iced coffee glasses for the shelf. The thinking behind the order is in branding a small business on a budget, and the whole set is in for cafés and small businesses.
