One clear subject beats a group shot. On an 11oz mug the print area is roughly the size of a postcard wrapped around a curve. A single face, a pet, a couple — perfect. Fourteen people at a wedding — a smudge.

Bright photos print bright. Ceramic printing deepens shadows slightly. A photo taken in good daylight will always beat a dim restaurant shot.

Leave the edges alone. Anything critical — faces, text in the photo — should sit in the middle. The wrap curves away at the edges.

Keep it under ten words; the mug is read at arm's length, not studied. Names beat titles — "Sarah" outlasts "World's Best Manager" because jobs change and names don't. Comfortably, around 20–25 characters per line across two or three lines. Less text prints larger and reads better across a room.

Are personalised mugs dishwasher safe?
Quality sublimation-printed ceramic mugs are dishwasher and microwave safe, because the design is bonded into the coating rather than sitting on top of it. Cheaper mugs with the design stuck on top of the glaze are not — which is why those peel and ours don't.
