A Christmas table with a personalised piece at each place solves three problems at once: who sits where, what replaces the cracker that nobody keeps, and the small gift for the guest you did not know was coming until the 20th. Under £10 a head, and it all comes home with the guest rather than into the recycling.
The place card that is a gift
A personalised mini wine bottle bag, 9 by 24 cm, printed with the guest's name, with a miniature prosecco, wine or spirit inside. It stands at the place, it says where to sit, and it is taken home. One per guest; for children, a miniature of something non-alcoholic or a bag of chocolate coins in the same bag.
The coaster under the good glass
A wooden coaster with the family surname and "Christmas 2026", one per place, or each guest's first name for the table that has the same twelve people every year. It is used with the tea after and goes in the drawer for next year.
For the couple at the table
A lock-and-key heart magnet pair, one at each of their places, printed with their names; the two halves sit together on their fridge in January. Under £7 for the pair.
For the children's end
The gold Christmas mini cutlery: two spoons and two forks with Santa and reindeer toppers, one piece at each child's place for the pudding. Not personalised, so it can be ordered in the last week; the adults will ask for one.
The top-table version
For the host, the parents or the one who cooked: the same things in a named presentation bag, with a fabric coaster that says "Head of gravy" or "The one who did the sprouts".

Numbers and timing
Count places, add two for the guests who appear. Everything is printed to order in Cheshire, usually dispatched within one to three working days, with free UK delivery; the December post is the slow part, so order the named pieces by mid-November and the cutlery whenever. Because each piece carries the name you type, it cannot be returned for a spelling change; check how the in-laws spell theirs. The whole table is in Christmas table ideas, and the pieces are in the Christmas shop.
Frequently asked questions
What can I put at each place at Christmas instead of a cracker?
A personalised mini wine bottle bag with the guest's name and a miniature inside: it is the place card, the cracker and the gift, and it goes home with the guest.
How much does a personalised place setting cost?
Under £10 a head: the bottle bag is £5.96, the wooden coaster £7.84 and the heart magnet £6.89 at the time of writing, before the miniature.
When should I order personalised Christmas table pieces?
By mid-November for named pieces, because the December post is the slow part; the gold cutlery is not personalised and can be ordered in the last week.
