A personalised gift is made after you order it, which is the reason it means something and the reason it cannot be bought on Friday for Saturday. It can, though, be bought on Tuesday for Saturday, if you choose the right piece and the right post. This is the honest guide to what still makes a weekend.
The arithmetic
Making usually takes one to three working days; a single small item with a clear name is often made the next working day. Standard post is free and takes two to four working days; an express option is offered at checkout for a small charge when the date is tight. Order Tuesday morning, express at checkout, and a small piece is normally with the recipient by Friday. Order Thursday and it is the following week. Sundays and bank holidays are not working days.
The pieces that go fastest
Small, flat, one name, no file to check:
- Tassel bookmark: a name and a line, posts in an envelope through a letterbox.
- Fabric coaster: same envelope, same speed.
- Photo magnets: fast if the three photos are good originals; an envelope.
- Kraft notebook: a name on the cover, a padded envelope.
- Presentation gift bag: a name on the outside, fast, and it upgrades whatever you already have in the cupboard.
- Photo mug: fast to make, but it travels in a box, so express matters more.
The pieces that need the week
Anything with a logo that may need cleaning up, sets of twelve glasses with twelve names, and anything ordered with a photo that turns out to be a screenshot. These are not slow; they have a question in them, and a question is a day.
Three things that save a day
- Type the name exactly, once. A query about spelling is the most common delay, and it is avoidable.
- Send the original photo, not a forwarded copy. The upload guide is a two-minute read that saves an email.
- Put the date in the note ("needed for Saturday 14th"). It is read before printing and, where there is a queue, respected.
The honest cut-off
For a weekend: order by Tuesday with express, or by the previous Friday with standard. For a weekday, count back five working days and add one. At Christmas the post is the slow half, not the making, so the cut-off moves to the first week of December for standard delivery. If it genuinely cannot make it, a named bag can often arrive first with a card inside saying the rest is coming, which is a better Saturday than nothing.

Frequently asked questions
Can I get a personalised gift by the weekend?
Usually, if you order by Tuesday with express delivery at checkout and choose a small piece with one name: a bookmark, coaster, magnets, notebook or a named gift bag. Order Thursday and it is the following week.
Which personalised gifts are made fastest?
Small, flat items with a name and no file to check: bookmark, fabric coaster, kraft notebook, presentation bag, and photo magnets with good originals.
Does express delivery speed up the making?
No; it speeds up the post. Making is one to three working days regardless, so the way to gain a day is a clear name, an original photo and the date in the note.
