Personalised Thank-You Gifts for Teaching Assistants and Support Staff

Personalised tote bag gift set, a thank-you gift for a teaching assistant

At the end of every term the teacher gets a bag of gifts and the teaching assistant gets a card, if that. The TA is often the adult a child talks to most; the office staff are the ones who found the lost jumper; the caretaker opened up for the nativity. This is a short list of named gifts that fit an envelope or a small bag, sized for a class collection that has to stretch across five or six people.

The envelope gifts

A tassel bookmark with the person's name and "Thank you from Oak Class" on the back: 15 by 3 cm, under £8, posts flat. A fabric coaster with "Mrs Khan's tea" for the staffroom. A kraft notebook with the name and the year. Any of the three is a considered gift on its own; two together are still under £17.

The one for the person who did the most

A tote bag gift set with the TA's name, notebook and pen inside, for the assistant who was there every day. It is the same set the teacher gets, which is the point.

The staffroom gift from the whole class

A set of three photo magnets: the class photo, the school logo and "Thank you, Year 2, 2026", for the staffroom fridge. It thanks everyone at once, including the people the class never sees.

Presenting it

A named presentation bag per person makes a bookmark and a coaster look like a gift rather than a token, and the row of named bags on the last morning is the photograph. Five bags with five names is under £41 before what goes in them.

What a class writes

  • Mrs Khan · Oak Class · 2026
  • Thank you for finding my jumper (the office)
  • The one who knows where everything is
  • Thank you from all of Year 2
  • Lunchtime hero
  • Mr Davies · Site Manager · thank you
  • You helped me read (from a child)
  • Reception Team 2026
  • Staffroom, hands off
  • We noticed. Thank you.

The name as it is used at school, the role if it helps, the class and the year. Block for a line from a child, Script for a name. The font guide shows the six.

Not missing anyone

Ask the class rep for the staff list for the year group, not just the teacher: TA, any one-to-one support, the lunchtime supervisor, the office, the site manager. One person collects, one orders, everyone gets a named thing, even if the named thing is a bookmark. Everything is printed to order in Cheshire, usually dispatched within one to three working days, with free UK delivery; order two weeks before the last day. Because each piece carries the name you type, it cannot be returned for a spelling change; check the newsletter for spellings. More in end-of-term teacher gifts and teacher gifts.
